Eucommia (scientific name Eucommia ulmoides Oliver), also known as bakelite, is a plant belonging to the Eucommia family Eucommia. The height of the tree can reach 20 meters, and the diameter at breast height is about 50 cm. The bark is gray-brown, rough, with rubber in it, and many filaments are broken and stretched. The leaves are oval, ovate or oblong, thin leathery, 6-15 cm long and 3.5-6.5 cm wide. It blooms in early spring and matures after autumn. Eucommia ulmoides likes a warm, humid climate and a sunny environment. It can tolerate severe cold. The adult plants can survive normally at -30°C. They have strong adaptability and no strict choice of soil, but they are deep, loose, fertile, moist and drained. Good loam is the most suitable. |
